Jenifer is a PhD health economist with 15 years experience in the industry with pharmaceuticals, e.g. SmithKline Beecham, Bristol-Myers Squibb; medical devices, e.g., Medtronic Internationale; vaccines, e.g., Aventis Pasteur; and orphan disease, e.g., Celgene and Alexion in different roles from Department Head to Vice President of Health Economics, Market Access and Pricing in the US and Europe. Previously, she was a tenured professor of health economics at the University of Washington and has continued as an adjunct professor in Europe, lecturing on reimbursement and economic evaluation. She has over 40 peer-reviewed publications, over 100 conference presentations and has co-authored and edited 2 books on reimbursement policy. Her experience includes a post-doctorate Robert Wood Johnson Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in health care finance and a Visiting Scholar at the Prospective Payment Assessment Commission for the US government evaluating hospital reimbursement and has been a reimbursement advisor on DRG implementation to several European governments. In addition, she has 10 years clinical experience in hospitals in the US and Asia. Her expertise was recognized in the US when she was invited to appear on both NBC and a rebroadcast on PBS in the television program John McGlaughlin’s One on One which aired in 2004. The topic was Access to Health Services Comparing Europe and North America where she presented the European perspective. She has also received Merit Awards from the International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research for her long-term involvement in supporting the professionalization of Health Economics and Outcomes Research and sat on numerous US governmental health care research funding agencies’ Study Sections reviewing governmental grants to universities. She joined LASER in 2011 as a Senior Consultant located in France, also providing consultancies worldwide, notably in the US.
